What “Made in India” Actually Means to Us
"Made in India" shows up on a lot of bottles these days, usually in small print near the barcode. For us it wasn't an afterthought to add once the product was finished — it shaped where we sourced from and who we chose to work with, from the very first formulation.
That meant working with domestic manufacturers who could meet a plant-powered specification without cutting corners on it, rather than defaulting to whatever was cheapest or fastest to import. It took longer to get right. We'd rather it took longer.
There's also a practical honesty in it: a bottle made close to where it's sold has a shorter, more accountable supply chain. If something's ever wrong with a batch, we're not tracing it through three countries and a shipping container — we know exactly where it came from.
We don't think "Made in India" should be a badge of national pride slapped on regardless of quality — plenty of products earn the label without earning the trust that should come with it. We'd rather it be a quiet fact about how we work, one you'd only really notice if you went looking for it.
So when you see it on a Klenich bottle, it's not marketing copy. It's just where we chose to build this, and why.
